Dear New Melle Community,
I am writing this open letter to the editor to express my love and appreciation of your fine community. I have served 25 years as pastor of New Melle Baptist Church until recently being called by God to serve in another great community at the First Baptist Church of Mountain Grove, Missouri.

To the Editor,
In May 2015, the Emmaus Homes, Inc. Board of Directors made a critical decision to begin transitioning our clients off of the Marthasville campus and into the community over the next 5 years.
I have been trying to come up with the correct words to get my point across, about the upcoming closing of the Emmaus home campus, but then I realize so many of you feel just as I do: confused, bewildered and maybe just plain angry!
On May 19, 2015 the Emmaus Home Board of Directors voted to begin transitioning resident off their Marthasville Campus and into community homes, with a target completion date of 2020.
I'm writing in response to recent letters published about Emmaus Homes. A very small number of family members of our clients currently residing on the Marthasville campus are dismayed about having to leave a setting where their loved one -- an adult with developmental disabilities -- has received care, often for many years.
