Paul E. Struckhoff

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Edmund Struckhoff.  Paul passed away on April 28, 2020 at the age of 88 from complications of COVID-19.

Paul was born on May 27, 1931 in Augusta, Missouri to a wonderful family, Frances Aholt and Edmund Struckhoff. Sisters Mercedes Hopen-surviving, Mary Feldmann-surviving, Helen Reiling-surviving and Ruth Heman-surviving.  Brothers Aloys-surviving, Richard deceased and John deceased.

Paul proudly served his country in the Korean War. Paul married Marjorie Duebbert (deceased) in 1967.  Love struck, he moved to O'Fallon, Missouri, where he worked for O'Fallon Gas, City of O'Fallon, and Lake St. Louis Lake Association.  Paul raised four great step kids, Frances (Ann) Ruether (Stapleton)-deceased, Greg Ruether, Mary Ruether (Werth), Bill (Willie) Ruether and his son Donald Struckhoff.

Paul enjoyed his grandkids, Hanna, Brett, Billy, Andrew, Jessica, and Owen along with his 7 great grandkids.  Paul was an active member in the O'Fallon VFW and the Augusta American Legion. He enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with his friends at the 56 Missouri Boat Club in Augusta, driving around the Augusta area looking to see who was planting and harvesting crops, stopping at friend’s houses and telling stories of the fun and troubles that he and his buddies got into.  Paul also enjoyed drinking a cold Stag beer with his wonderful wife, family and friends.

Dad, when you see Mom and Ann – Tell them “We love you”.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, The CDC guidelines has required that Pitman Funeral Home limit the number of family and friends to be present at the visitation and funeral service.  We, the family, understand that you may want to be with us during our time of loss, but for safety reasons, we understand your absence.  Pitman Funeral Home offers other options on their website through condolences, sympathies, donations and flowers as an expression of your sympathy.  Thank you for your concern and consideration.
