TROY, MO, August 8, 2022 – Four charitable organizations were each awarded a $5,000 “Sharing Success” grant by Cuivre River Electric Cooperative (CREC) and CoBank. The recipients of the 2022 grants are Anne’s Anchor, New Melle Sports & Recreation (NMSR), The Sparrow’s Nest, and Warren County Literacy.

St. Paul’s Lutheran in New Melle held the second annual St. Paul’s Kidz Carnival on July 16, it was a hot day; fortunately, there was shade, a breeze and a misting station to stay cool. The Kidz Carnival was free; the only request was for donations to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
Lavonnie Turner passed away on June 15, 2021 at the age of 82.
He was the beloved husband of Mamie Turner, nee Auping, of O'Fallon, Missouri. He is survived by: sons, Randy Turner and Terry (Kim) Turner of O'Fallon, MO; daughter, Connie (Carl) Brauner; six grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, Ryan, Brandon, Courtney, Nick; and five great-grandchildren. Lavonnie Turner was born on January 12, 1939 to Elbert Turner and Nona Turner nee Price, who preceded him in death. He married the love of his life, Mamie Lue Auping in Wentzville, Missouri on January 12, 1962. Lavonnie enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to go fishing, especially in Kentucky. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation: Thursday, June 24, 2021, 3-7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385. Funeral: Friday, June 25, 2021, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
