Arlie G. Schemmer, 90 , of Marthasville, passed away on September 29, 2021.

Mr. Schemmer, son of the late Arthur Schemmer and his wife Ella nee Rawie, was born on July 3, 1931, in Femme Osage, MO. He received his education from the Augusta Public Schools. On April 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mollie Ehlenbeck in Dutzow.

Arlie served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army in the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was a charter and life member of the Theiman-Tidd VFW 5651 Honor Guard in New Melle and a life member of the Daniel Boone Post 180 American Legion in Marthasville. Arlie was also a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, the Boone-Duden Historical Society, the New Melle/Melle Friendship Society, and the St. Vincent’s Church in Dutzow.

Mr. Schemmer was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Elda and Leland Schemmer.

Among his survivors are his wife, Mollie Schemmer of Marthasville; In-laws, Ruth Schemmer, Ed Ehlenbeck and wife Donna, Antoinette Blackwell and husband Bob, Marie Busch and husband John, and Evelyn Busch; nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 4-8 P.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 10 A.M. at the St. Vincent’s Church in Dutzow. Interment, with full military honors, will be held at the St. Vincent’s Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
