MOHumanities 2024 Small-Town Showcase
Augusta and New Melle Nominated, Vote by July 15
Close to 40 small towns were selected for the Missouri Humanities 2024 Small-Town Showcase and Augusta and New Melle, along with several other small towns, were nominated.
MOHumanities is an organization that has, for over 50 years, been dedicated to helping Missourians explore the people, places, and ideas that shape our society. Their focus for the future is for a more thoughtful, informed, and civil society. They strive to highlight the uniqueness of rural Missouri and to showcase the bigger picture of what Small-Town America really is and why it shouldn’t be overlooked, overshadowed, or underappreciated.
Each year, communities are nominated and voted on by Missourians to become the annual “Featured Five” communities. Each of the Featured Five will work with Missouri Humanities on the following:
• A short video about their community.
• An hour-long podcast, roundtable-style.
• A feature in the bi-annual publication, MoHumanities.
• A highlight reel featuring all five communities, to be shown during the annual gala.
Learn about all the communities nominated and vote. Help choose which communities will be featured for Small-Town Showcase 2024 by visiting www.mohumanities.org/small-town-showcase and clicking the “Vote Now” button at the bottom of the webpage.
You may vote for up to five communities and can vote multiple times. Voting closes July 15th, and the five communities with the most votes will be the winners.
