She was the beloved wife of the late James Brown of Foristell, Missouri. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Mark) Biermann of Lake Saint Louis, MO; granddaughter, Madalyn Margaret Biermann; sister, Mary Lou Roberts. She is preceded in death by her father, Early Vincent McIver; mother, Lillian Mae McIver nee Formby; husband, James Brown; brothers, Donnie McIver, Ronnie McIver, Vincent "Bud" McIver; sisters, Carolyn Tatum and Betty McCorkle.

Margaret was a member of Shiloh United Methodist. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Jan was co-founder and CFO of J.C. Brown Company, a banking equipment company in business for over 50 years. When Jan was in high school, not only was she the valedictorian of her class, she was also the captain of her basketball team. Her love of basketball was ever present when watching her favorite team, the Arkansas Razorbacks. You could often hear her calling her Razorback hogs “Go Pig Sooie”. Jan was an animal activist who worked to end the suffering of any animal and would always feed the animals in her neighborhood.

She loved to garden, read, and work in her yard. When she wasn’t in the yard, you could find her porch talking with her beloved neighbors. She had an extensive collection of hand-painted Russian eggs that she cherished. She had an awesome sweet tooth and never met a piece of chocolate she didn’t like. Her most favorite thing to do was just to hang out with Madi. Whether going to Party Playtime when Madi was little to watching her cheer at Timberland football games. That is who she would spend every minute with and called her “joy”.

The driving force in her life was to show her family, friends, and acquaintances unconditional love and acceptance. She always left the room with more friends than she did when she showed up.
