Georgia Ann Gronefeld, 87, passed into eternity on March 15, 2023. She was born to the late George and Verena (Mahler) Beyer in 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri. Georgia married Wayne Gronefeld on July 17, 1971.

After attending Webster Groves High School, Georgia worked as a teller at the Bank of Valley Park and the Bank of Dutzow. Together with Wayne, they raised five children and enjoyed studying history, collecting primitives antiques, and traveling. Georgia loved dogs and cherished many Irish Setters over the years. She is remembered fondly for her sharp sense of humor and a deep care and concern for her family and others.
Georgia was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cappeln, MO, for more than 50 years; she sang in the church choir and volunteered for the church’s annual pancake and sausage supper as well as the church picnic.
Georgia was preceded in death by her brother, William Beyer. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne; five children, Kathy (Chris) DeLaquil, Michael MacMann, Bradley (Staci) Gronefeld, Timothy (Dawn) MacMann, and David (Lynne) Gronefeld. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Carrie (Ben) Richardson, April (Jake) DeLaquil, Andrew (Jessica) Gronefeld, Ashleigh (Kyle) Hollander, Michael (Michelle) Gronefeld, Taylor (Adam) MacMann, Abby Bounds, Kevin Melter, Christopher Bounds, Kyleigh MacMann, Emileigh MacMann, and Sarah Gronefeld. Georgia was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Samuel Richardson, Kayden Hollander, Toby Richardson, Gabe Richardson and Millie Hollander.
Georgia is treasured by countless friends, extended family and loved ones who will carry on her legacy.
Visitation and Funeral: Sunday, March 19, 2023, from noon to 2 p.m. at St. John's UCC, 60 St Johannes,Cappeln, MO 63365. Funeral at 2 p.m. immediately following visitation.
Interment: St. John's UCC, 60 St Johannes, Cappeln, MO 63365.
