Gina Ann McDonald


Gina Ann McDonald of Defiance, passed away at the age of 67 on Saturday, May 13, 2023. McDonald Gina.jpgShe is survived by her beloved husband Michael McDonald of St. Louis, Missouri; two children, Sean (Matthew) McDonald and Wesley (Lisa) McDonald; mother, Haroldene Napoli; five brothers, James (Lori) Napoli; John (Virginia/Gigi) Napoli; David (Sheila) Napoli; and David (Susan) Rutledge; two grandchildren, Brock and Brayden McDonald; nieces and nephews, Zach, Erin, Ryan (Andrea) N., Ryan (Linda) R., Emily (Dave); extended family O’Neill (Vickie) McDonald, Jim (Sally) McDonald, Scott (Kim) McDonald, Patti (John) Alli; and dearest friends Debbie (Randy) Abernathy and Ann Gartland. She is preceded in death by her father, Vincent “Jim” Napoli.

Gina and Michael were married on July 19, 1980, and celebrated 42 years of marriage. In her younger days, Gina was a model and eventually became an integral part of local businesses as an office manager. In retirement, Gina worked tirelessly as the family matriarch to bring everyone together for holidays and special events. She was well-known for sending out “all points bulletins” to family members to share exciting, important news. She was at peace in the mountains, regularly traveling out west to enjoy the fresh air and scenic views. Gina was active in her religion, participating in service and events at Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Melle, MO. She enjoyed playing cards, a marbles board game, crafting, and helping take care of her mother Haroldene. Gina was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who loved and brightened everyone’s lives.

Services: Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in New Melle, MO. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., with a luncheon following.
